On average the clownfish can be 3 to4 inches long and have rich orange pigmentation with white bands having black outline. There is a surprising fact about the clownfish and that is they cover themselves with their own slime. Why do they do that? They do this because they live in anemones which they sting. So their slime protects them from their sting.

Both clownfish and anemones share a symbiotic relationship, and they both cannot survive without each other. Clown fish eat algae from the anemones and in return their waste acts as food for the anemones. Anemones also provide shelter and protection to the clownfish.

Clownfish are local to the Great barrier reef.
