Eagles can be said as lions of birds. Eagles have huge bodies with large-sized beaks and heads. One of the strange facts about elephants is that they have four hearts. It is not a simple deer, it is one of the biggest deers in the world. Elk is also known as Wapiti, and is extensively present in Northern America as well as in Central Asia. Even having a huge size elk deers are preyed on by many predators including mountain lions, bears, and grey wolves. Young deers may get caught by coyotes and bobcats. Like all deers, elks also form herds that keep them secure from predators. It is very hard to kill a healthy adult elk even by a lion particularly when he is surrounded by fellow elks.


These fishes belong to the order Anguilliformes and are categorized as ray-finned fishes. This order further contains six sub orders and a lot of families and genera. There are almost eight hundred species of eels present in the world. Eels are adapted to live in both water types; freshwater and seawater. Eel is a dangerous fish as it has the capability of producing almost 600 volts of electricity which is enough to kill an individual. Even if a person survives after an eel attack, he mostly lives paralyzed.


Echidnas are egg-laying animals also famous as “Spiny-anteaters.” Echidnas are usually confused with the hedgehogs due to physical similarities. They are covered by a quill and belong to the family Tachy glossidae. Echidnas are descendants of an egg-laying mammal called platypus and evolved around twenty to fifty million years ago. Echidnas have a strange way of communication. They secrete a specific wax from the base, which is not venomous but used by echidnas as a medium of communication in breeding season.


Having a white buffed plumage, egrets are categorized as herons. Their plumage turns to off-white or creamy-white when breeding season approaches. Egrets do not have biological differences from the herons and have the same physiology. The main difference between egrets and herons is their height. Usually the herons are more huge in size than the ergets. Also, egrets have light-colored legs whereas herons have black colored legs with a tinge of white.

Emu is the close relative of ostrich. Competing with its relative, emu is on second slot of being the largest bird by height, while ostrich is at first. Emu is only found in Australia and is the most huge bird there. Though emus are less aggressive than ostriches, they still are enraged when they are provoked, and can get aggressive. Emus are particularly concerned about their babies and protect them at any cost. Their strong claws and beak can cause serious damage so be careful around them.


Eland is the largest antelope in the world. Though it resembles a cow due to its huge size, it is not. Both males and females have a fawn colored skin with huge spiral-shaped black horns. Elands are famous for their milk, as it has more butterfat, and can be kept for longer periods without the fear of expiring. Elands are domesticated for their meat, and milk production. Elans are found in Southern Africa and can live upto ten to fifteen years.


Ermine is a weasel with a short tail. It is also known as Eurasian ermine, Ermine or as Beringian ermine. This weasel inhabits the lands of Eurasia and is also present in Northern America. Ermines are found extensively on their native lands and they are of least concern according to the IUCN red list. Ermines are hunted for their fur and are very expensive, even the European royalties have worn Ermine fur. Ermines are aggressive and have a fast speed. 


Eider is a medium sized sea duck, with a huge frontal lobe of the bill that continues to the crown. It is smaller than a snow geese and larger than a surf scooter. Eiders have black-white plumage, with the upper parts of black color and a black cap, whereas the below parts are of white color. They have a yellowish greenish patch near the nape, and orange-yellow beaks.Eiders spend their time in flocks flying and looking for sea mussels on seashores. Most of the life they stay hiding when there are high tides. During breeding seasons, male begin courtship by producing dove-like sounds attracting the females.


Who isn’t aware about these nasty things when they pop out during monsoon. Earthworms have segmented bodies and have a tube-in tube morphology. Each segment is differentiated by setae and they also have internal segmentation as well. Earthworms can be harmful for humans as they munch upon the organic matter in soil. That is why, they can carry several harmful bacteria like E.coli, and Salmonella that can cause serious gut diseases.

Elvira rat:

This rat is extremely endangered and is native to the Eastern shores of Tamil Nadu, India. This rat was first discovered by Sir John Ellerman, and it belongs to the family Muridae. The major threat faced by this rat is habitat destruction. Elvira rats are present in grey, brown, black and white colors and are herbivores. These rats are found in rocky regions or suburban forests, and can live to two to four years.

European rabbit:

This rabbit is also famous as “Poney” and is native to the Iberian Peninsula. This rabbit has been extensively introduced all around the world in different regions, however causing serious damage to biodiversity. Why? Because these rabbits have a habit of overgrazing and can cause serious damage to vegetation and crops. In addition, their numbers increase so rapidly causing other lives to move out, and ultimately die.

European wildcat:

These cats are medium-sized wild cats native to the lands of Europe, Turkey, Italy, and Caucasus. This cat can grow upto eighteen to thirty-two inches and can weigh around three to eight kilograms. These cats live in the European forests, and are crucially endangered in their native regions due to habitat loss.
